Stamisol façade membranes

Stamisol
Safe One

High fire performance.
Euroclass A2-s1,d0.

Stamisol Safe One is a specialist façade membrane classified Euroclass A2-s1,d0. This classification identifies a product with a limited contribution to fire, low smoke production and no flaming droplets or particles under the relevant test conditions.

Defined open-jointed applications — not an unrestricted use. Safe One is intended for applications with open joints up to 50mm or 50% open area, subject to the manufacturer's specified conditions. Supporting construction, exposure conditions and installation details must comply with the relevant product documentation.

Fire performance and water-tightness

For specified ventilated façade applications.

Alongside its fire classification, Safe One has W1 water-tightness performance, making it suitable for specified façade applications where protection against water penetration is an important part of the external wall design.

The membrane has been developed for use in ventilated façade constructions, including specified open-jointed cladding systems. This makes the relationship between the membrane and external cladding particularly important when developing a façade specification.

For open-jointed applications, the permitted joint dimensions and exposure conditions must be considered carefully. The supporting construction and installation details must also comply with the relevant product documentation.

For specifiers, Safe One provides a combination of reaction-to-fire classification and water-tightness characteristics that can be considered when designing appropriate ventilated façade systems.

At a glance

Key product information

  • Reaction-to-fire classification: Euroclass A2-s1,d0.
  • Low smoke production.
  • No flaming droplets or particles under the relevant classification criteria.
  • W1 water-tightness classification.
  • Intended for specified ventilated façade applications.
  • Suitable for defined open-jointed cladding arrangements, subject to manufacturer conditions.

A2-s1,d0 is not A1. Safe One has a limited contribution to fire under the relevant test conditions. Its classification is not interchangeable with an A1 rating, and compliance with Building Regulations may be reliant on automatic suitability for a building type — always assess the complete façade system.

Installation and specification

A façade membrane can only perform as intended when the product, supporting construction and installation details work together. Before specifying Stamisol Safe One, designers and contractors should establish:

  • The proposed façade construction and cladding arrangement.
  • The supporting substrate and its compatibility with the membrane.
  • The fire classification and the scope of the supporting evidence.
  • Permitted joint dimensions and exposure conditions.
  • The membrane's water-resistance and moisture-management requirements.
  • Fixing arrangements, overlaps, junctions and penetrations.
  • The manufacturer's installation instructions and any project-specific requirements.

The installation guide and relevant technical documentation should be consulted before work begins. Where the proposed construction differs from the documented application, clarification should be obtained from the manufacturer.
